GMA 2010 TO BE LAUNCHED
In preparation towards the 11th edition of the MTN Ghana Music Awards Festival, a grand official launch has been scheduled for Friday 26th of February 2010 at the Golden Tulip Hotel.

The launch which is expected to attract a cross section of the Ghanaian music industry, organiser and sponsors will officially usher in the festival. It is at this event that the Nominees for the Public Categories will be unveiling to the Media and the general public.

The next step from the launch will be the massive launch of the voting process in the media which will see the general public given the opportunity to contribute to who wins what by voting their favourites to win. That is when all the fun stuff begins with the stiff competition that is sure to follow.

The 11th in the series of the MTN GMA will indeed be exciting. One thing to note throughout the campaign is that for the Public Categories, the general public makes up 30 per cent of the decision of who wins what while the Planning and Selection Committees share the remaining 70 percent.

The Industry Categories which are more technical and require expertise rather than popularity, the decision on who wins what rests on the Planning and Selection Committees which is made up of industry professionals.

The MTN Ghana Music Awards Festival is a celebration of Ghanaian music and the professionals who have kept the music flowing throughout the year. It is the most sustained awards scheme in Ghana and has gained for itself a good reputation over the 11 years that it has been running.

The final nominees list that will be published for public voting will be unveiled at the launch. Again the much awaited prize package that awaits the topmost award will be unveiled to the media and the general public.

Meanwhile the organisers are planning a massive Independence Day Nominee’s Jam for the T-Poly Park in Takoradi. This is expected to bring plenty of excitement to the twin city and to robe the Regions into the awards festival.
